What is Audit Shield?

Audit Shield insurance covers the professional fees you may incur if the ATO selects you for an audit, review or investigation.

It is an optional service we offer business owners, SMSFs and individuals, and is particularly worth considering if you hold rental properties or cryptocurrency assets, or claim significant work related deductions.

Audit Shield provides:

  • Comprehensive coverage: protection against audits and reviews relating to income tax, GST, PAYG, FBT and superannuation guarantee.
  • Retrospective protection: previously lodged returns are automatically included.
  • Specialist fees included: covers the cost of external specialists, such as tax lawyers, engaged as part of an audit response.
  • Optional participation: taking up the service is entirely your choice.

Things to note:

  • The payment is tax deductible.
  • You must be a registered tax client of ours to access the service.
  • Coverage commences the next business day after payment is received.
